Bellwether docs

Reading a verdict

Allow means recent paid probes matched the schema, delivered a body every time and kept a stable price. Caution means something drifted or a small share of paid calls failed. Avoid means failures or price jumps are frequent enough that paying is likely to waste money.

Every verdict lists the reasons behind it, so an agent can log them or apply its own rules, for example paying on caution only when response validation is enabled.

Calling the score API

Send a GET request to /v1/score with the url parameter and your key in the Authorization header. The call is free and returns the verdict, a 0 to 100 score, the current price in USDC, and an array of reasons.

If the endpoint is not in the registry yet, Bellwether queues a paid probe and returns a verdict of caution with the reason 'not yet probed'. Probe results usually appear within a few minutes.

Probe wallet and costs

Probes are paid on Solana in USDC from a Bellwether wallet, with a small SOL reserve for fees. Each probe is a normal x402 payment, so sellers receive the funds, and every transaction can be opened on Solscan from the probe log.

Registry endpoints are probed on Bellwether's budget. For endpoints you add yourself, you can set a maximum spend per probe and a daily cap in the form on the main screen.
